Thickness of the Ice Sheet over North America, 19,000 B.C.

Here is the paper (pdf) by A.S. Dyke et al. referenced in the xkcd comic, “The Laurentide and Innuitian ice sheets during the Last Glacial Maximum,” Quaternary Science Reviews 21, 9-31 (2002). From the abstract: “in the Atlantic Provinces…ice is now thought to have extended to the Continental Shelf edge in most places, and on eastern Baffin Island…ice probably extended to the fiord mouths rather than to the fiord heads.”
